When Jesus redefines your life, failure is no longer your portion. In Him, you carry a 100% success rate because every trial, every fire, and every storm is filtered through His victory. What once broke you can no longer define you; now, your life testifies to the power and presence of God at work within you.
When your life is redefined by Jesus, you become steadfast, immovable, and unstoppable, no matter the storms around you.
Over the past four weeks, we’ve been walking through what it means to live a life redefined by Jesus. From being in the Potter’s hands, to moving from ignorance to encounter, to being shaped for more, now we come to the next truth:
- A redefined life is a steadfast life.
- Your redefined life is immovable.
- A redefined life by Jesus is an abundant life in Him.
When you live redefined by Jesus, your life takes on a new firmness, stability, and courage. These aren’t abstract words; they’re promises you can stand on. They are truths you can take to the bank and cash out with confidence.
When You Pass Through the Waters
God doesn’t promise a life free from trial. He promises His presence in the trial.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” (Isaiah 43:2)
Notice it says when, not if. Trials aren’t optional; they’re inevitable. But so is God’s faithfulness.
- Deep waters? He is with you.
- Raging rivers? He will not let them sweep you away.
- Fiery trials? You will not be consumed.
You don’t have to panic. You don’t have to fear. God can so strengthen you that you don’t just survive the fire, you walk through it.
Affliction and trials don’t destroy you, they reveal the unshakable life redefined by Jesus that has been forming in you all along.
As Alan Redpath once said, “Walking is the pace at which you go when you are not in a hurry, when you are not concerned or alarmed. ‘He that believeth shall not make haste.’”
A redefined life walks steadily because it knows: God is with me.
Fear Not, for He Is With You
God says, “Fear not, for I am with you.” (Isaiah 41:10)
To not fear means we are not to allow anxiety or fretfulness to rule our lives or take root in our hearts. It’s a call to trust and dependency on God and to abandon worry and do not be afraid.
God is with you means you can have hope for the future, because you know who is with you and whose name is written on your life. You were not only created by Him; you were created for Him.
If we have no Creator, we are purposeless. But since God Himself has created us for His glory, when we glorify Him, we step into the deepest fulfillment we were designed for. You don’t have to chase worth or scramble for meaning; you already have it in Him.
Affliction Reveals the Redefined Life
How do you really know Jesus has redefined you? Not by comfort, but by what comes through your affliction.
“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tried you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it, for how should my name be profaned? My glory I will not give to another.” (Isaiah 48:10–11)
Your trials are not wasted. They are the furnace where steadfastness is forged, where immovability is proven, and where your life begins to shine with God’s glory.
The Redefined Perspective
Contrast the old vs. the new mindset:
- Old: “This is happening to me.”
- Redefined: “God is shaping something in me through this.”
- Old: “Why me?”
- Redefined: “Lord, what are You producing in me?”
How to Respond When Affliction Comes?
- Pause and Pray – resist the urge to complain first.
- Remember His Promises – rehearse God’s Word out loud.
- Release Control – surrender the need to fix everything.
- Remain in His Presence – prioritize worship and quiet time.
2 Corinthians 4:17; James 1:2–4; 1 Peter 1:6–7
These Scriptures will show you how affliction is not punishment but preparation.
How to Live Steadfast and Immovable
Here’s how you lean into this reality day by day:
1. Remind yourself of His Word and promises. Keep Scripture in front of you, speak it over your life, and pray it back to God. His Word is your anchor.
2. Move in faith. Don’t just know the truth; make decisions based on it. Faith is always active.
3. Be bold in your convictions. The redefined life doesn’t shrink back. It stands strong in what God has said, even when culture pushes back.

Always Abounding
When you live steadfast and immovable, your life doesn’t stall out; it abounds. You become someone who overflows with faith, fruit, and faithfulness. You walk in boldness and great courage because you know the One who holds your life together.
Overall, below is what it means to be redefined by Jesus:
- Not easily shaken.
- Not easily moved.
- Always abounding in His work, His presence, His glory.
An unshakable life redefined by Jesus is a life of boldness, victory, and unstoppable faith where God’s glory is visible in everything you do.
