We are officially one week away from the new year, and I pray Life in God has felt like a bonus to your year.
Life in God exists to help you surrender, dwell, and abide so that you begin to experience God’s goodness firsthand for yourself.
That’s what this year has been about. Living from the presence of God. Prioritizing Him. His Word and His presence.
Take a moment to remember what God has done this year, to meditate and ponder His goodness this year.
“I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah” — Psalm 143:5–6 (ESV)

Remember What God Has Done
Wherever you are right now, remember God has been with you. Some of you are ending this year grateful. Some weary. And some are actually relieved it’s over. And there are some of you who are quietly wondering how you made it through. Whether this year felt full or fragile, steady or stretching, the Lord has not left you. He has kept you, even in ways you may not yet fully see.
Whether this year has been one of difficulty and battle, how has the Lord kept you?
If this has been a year of encounter, sit with that. How have you met the Lord this year? Have you encountered a version of God you’ve never known? I have.
As I encourage you to remember, that’s what I’ve been doing too.
God has really led us this year, through medical challenges, into a new community, new schools, and unexpected blessings. But most importantly, this has been a year of coming to know God in a new way. I’ve encountered Him deeply. I have walked with Him. I’ve heard Him like never before through His Word and seen His hand. I have witnessed His keeping power. I’ve seen hidden mysteries revealed. I’ve been blown away by what faith can do.
It’s been a tough year, but it’s also been a foundational year. So today, sit with the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of the hand of God on your life this past year.
Remember.
Meditate. Let not your heart forget.
Ponder.
And even if you fumbled your way through this year, if you wavered, struggled, or fell short, there is no better time than today to return to Him and surrender. Begin to dwell (live) in the Lord’s presence today. Allow the Holy Spirit to help you abide (remain) daily with Him.
Make this verse your prayer today:
“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” — Psalm 143:10 (ESV)
