How to Live a Life Redefined by Jesus (Part 3)

The Potter’s Hands at Work

We’ve walked through what it means to be in the Potter’s hands and how God takes us from ignorance to encounter. Now, we arrive at the next reality of being redefined by Jesus; we are shaped for more.

When God redeems us, He doesn’t just patch up the broken pieces of our lives but He makes us new. Instead, He redefines our identity, our desires, our vision, and our dreams. He gives us purpose and calls us His own.

The Potter is still at work. He takes the clay of your life (your past, your pain, your weaknesses) and reshapes it into something that reflects His heart. You may not always notice it in the moment, but His fingerprints are there. For example,

  • That time you chose kindness instead of bitterness? He was shaping you.
  • That moment you held your tongue when you once would’ve lashed out? He was molding you.
  • That season when old desires lost their grip, self-harm, alcohol, the chase for happiness, and you found true joy in Jesus? That’s the Potter’s hand at work.

As G. Campbell Morgan once said: “Power was manifested in the potter’s manipulation of the clay, and pity in his remaking of the marred vessel. The clay was suddenly marred, twisted; it failed to express the potter’s thought. Yet the potter did not abandon it.”

In the same way, Friend, in your sin and rebellion, you may not have expressed who God thought you would be before the foundation of the world. But He has not abandoned you. His power is at work in you through the Holy Spirit. He is molding you, reshaping you, redeeming you.

God’s Upgrade, Not an Update

This is not about a second chance. It’s about a brand-new beginning. God doesn’t simply update your old system; He upgrades it with His Spirit. You are not just improved; Jesus is redefining you.

God doesn’t want to update your way of thinking; He wants to upgrade it. God delights in blessing His people. He delights in steadfast love. He delights in making you new.

How to Lean Into the Redefined You

If you want to live fully shaped for more, here’s where to start:

1. Stop clinging to the past.

  • Stop rehearsing it.
  • Stop replaying it.
  • Stop protecting it.
Your past has a voice, but you don’t have to let it keep speaking.

2. Embrace the present.

  • Rejoice in the greatness and goodness of the Lord.
  • Meditate on what pleases Him, worship with your thoughts.
  • Make choices in light of His revelation of Himself.

Bonus: Dream Again

Respond to those first-hand convictions. Allow the Holy Spirit to reveal new dreams the Lord is birthing in you.

Open to the Spirit’s Move

As you lean into the redefined you, you open your life to the Holy Spirit, who moves, leads, and brings you into more.

We’ve been talking about this more:

  • More than religion.
  • More than casual faith.
  • More than going through the motions or routine.

The more is a personal revival. It is supernatural encounters. Which leads to a victory, power, dominion, and overcoming authority by the blood and power of Jesus Christ.

It’s where your life begins to align with your words and God’s truth, where fruit is produced, and where your lifestyle becomes undeniable evidence of God’s glory. When people look at you, they don’t just see you; they see Jesus.

A Charge to You: Live Boldly

Our charge to you remains no more going through the motions. No more excuses. No more laziness.

There is more to our walk with Him:

  • More of knowing who He is.
  • More of being in His presence.
  • More of living in the power He’s called us to demonstrate, model, and share.

My Pastor, Pastor Eli, said something that has stayed with me for weeks:
“Where the Holy Spirit is Lord in my life, there is freedom.”

If He’s Lord of what I listen to and watch, I will have freedom.
If He’s Lord of my time, I will have freedom.

But here’s the question: what area of your life is God not Lord?

The word Lord means “the one in charge, the one who calls the shots.” Wherever the Holy Spirit is Lord in your life, there is freedom. And that freedom is not just freedom from sin, shame, or pain, it is also freedom to move beyond defeat into victory, beyond casual into courageous, beyond timid faith into audacious boldness.

A Prayer Over You

I pray you will be led by the Spirit of God in every area of your life.
That you will release control and allow the Holy Spirit to be Lord of every corner of your heart.
I pray you will be hungry and humble for God’s presence.
And I pray you will encounter a deep awakening of His supernatural power at work within you, an encounter that redefines you forever.

Step Into Your New Life

Redefining my life with Jesus.
Who am I becoming?
One who lives from His presence.

This is the call: to let the Potter shape you, to let the Holy Spirit lead you, and to embrace a life redefined by Jesus.

As you lean into His presence, you’ll find that you’re not just being changed, you’re being made new. You’re becoming who you were always meant to be in Him.

Now it’s your turn. Step into the life Jesus has redefined for you. Live in His freedom. Bear His fruit. Reflect His glory. And let your whole life declare to the world: I have been redefined by Jesus.
