If you’ve been longing for more of God, this blog will walk you through what it truly means to experience personal revival because real revival doesn’t start around us, it starts within us.
“Do It Again, Lord, With Me”
“Do it again, Lord! Lord, would you do it again?! And would you do it again with me?!” – Billy Graham
We hear about the revivals of old, the awakenings, the moves of God, the outpourings of the Holy Spirit that swept across cities, nations, and hearts. Revival isn’t just a spiritual buzzword; it’s a divine invasion. It is heaven touching earth. A holy fire. A people undone by the weight of His glory.
If you want personal spiritual revival, your prayer must become:
“Do it again, Lord and do it again with me.” Start revival within me.
I pray I can write what I feel in my bones and the depth of my soul. I say this in love. God is working on me. He’s doing open-heart surgery on me and I pray you allow Him to do the same with you.

Have We Become Casual with God?
Let’s be honest:
- We’ve become casual with God.
- Our expectation is low.
- We speak of God routinely, but not reverently.
- We’ve lost our zeal.
- We act like God isn’t as powerful as He once was.
- We treat Him like He’s just another option.
- We think He can’t heal, can’t restore, can’t revive.
But God is not like man. He is not like silver or gold. He is not created, He is the Creator.
The time of ignorance is over. God is no longer overlooking our excuses, our apathy, or our sin. No longer can you afford to suppress and reject the truth. No more can we know Him and not honor Him. Gone are the days will we withhold our lips, our lives, our loyalty.
He has made Himself known, clearly revealed. We have no excuse. You have no excuse.
A Call Out of Ignorance and Into His Presence
God is calling us out of ignorance and into encounter. He’s taking us on a journey of living from His presence. There’s more to this life than defeat, poverty, fear, and failure. There is more.
Make this your prayer: “Lord, remove ignorance in me and begin personal revival within me.”
What Is Personal Revival?
Revival is the manifest presence of God. Personal revival is the clear out-pouring and the detection of God’s fingerprints on your life.
- It’s the tangible evidence of His hand on your life.
- It’s hearing His voice by His Spirit.
- It’s feeling His whisper.
- It’s encountering Him personally.
God longs to reveal Himself to you. He wants you to see Him, to know Him, to experience Him.
So, we pray:
- God, humble us.
- Decrease us.
- Strip away the pressure, the pride, the distractions.
- Increase in us, Your power, Your glory, Your presence.
- Be exalted. Be lifted high.
This is the atmosphere of personal encounter.
This is where revival begins, in you.
Make this your prayer, “Lord, revival within me is my cry, my pursuit, and my posture.”

How to Experience God for Yourself
If you want personal revival, if you want to encounter God, here’s where to begin:
1. Search My Heart
The term “search” means to examine or investigate carefully. (Read Psalm 139)
Let God examine your heart, allow Him to make known what is rotten, dead, or killing you spiritually… the things that are keeping you from Him. I can’t tell you what those things are, but God can.
Ask Him to search through everything that’s been hindering your closeness with Him.
Is it porn? an addiction? pride, unforgiveness, bitterness, selfishness, anger, or a lack of self-control?
Ask Him:
“Lord, point out anything in me that’s offensive to You. Reveal the wicked things that need to die, to be uprooted, surrendered to You.”
Lord, I want You to start revival within me.
But I know it starts when You search my heart.
What’s in my heart, Lord?
2. Be Devoted (Live a Life of Devotion & Consecration)
Devotion means a life wholly given to Jesus. A life of devotion and consecration is rare in our generation, not because it’s no longer possible, but because we’ve traded it for lesser loves.
We’ve become devoted to the world, to distraction, to comfort, to self. Our focus, our time, our loyalty are pointed in the wrong direction.
It’s time to change the course of your devotion. To turn your attention fully to Jesus. To live in a way that shows you know Him and honor Him. Devotion is more than a feeling. It’s a deep commitment. A posture of love, loyalty, and obedience to God. It involves your whole life: your worship, your prayers, your service, your choices.
Ask yourself: where is my devotion?
Where is your energy going?
Where is your time spent?
What holds your heart?
Because when you’re truly devoted to Jesus, your life reflects it.
How Do You Begin Devotion to Jesus?

Start here:
- Get into His Word.
Learn His ways. Discover His thoughts.
You can’t be devoted to a God you don’t know and the Bible reveals who He is. - Pray the Word.
Let Scripture move you to your knees.
You’ll read of those who walked with God and those who didn’t.
And you’ll find yourself crying out:
“Lord, I want to know You. I want to worship You, for real.”
Consecration: Set Apart for God
Consecration is being set apart, made holy for God’s purpose.
It’s the evidence that you’ve been with God. It’s a life that looks different. Feels different. Walks different. You no longer live for yourself. You live to be used by God. I think of Paul.
His whole life shifted after that moment with Jesus on the Damascus Road. He didn’t just have an encounter; he lived from it. He:
- Preached the gospel with power
- Believed God in the face of death
- Laid hands to heal
- Walked in bold faith because he had been set apart
Paul lived a life of devotion and consecration. And so can you.
Make This Your Prayer:
Lord, start revival within me. I don’t want to just know about You; I want to live for You. Holy Spirit, help me. Empower me. Set me apart. I give my heart, my will, my life… all to You.
Personal Revival Within Requires Change
God is requiring a change in how we live. No more excuses. No more delays. No more casual Christianity. Be not ignorant, be ready. I’m reminded of the wise virgins in Matthew 25:1-13.
They were ready, lamps filled with oil, hearts postured in obedience.
You too can be ready:
- To hear the whisper of God.
- To know when to speak and what to speak.
- To obey at a moment’s notice.
But know this, revival costs.
The Cost of Personal Revival
If God is going to start revival within you, then know this, there is a cost.
Revival doesn’t come to the casual. It doesn’t rest on the indifferent. It begins with those who are willing to lay everything down.

Here Are a Few Costs You Must Count
These come straight from Romans 1 and they begin with this: You must get rid of unrighteousness.
But hear this clearly: You cannot make yourself righteous. Only Jesus can do that.
Your deepest need is not a better life…It’s salvation.
And the best gift this blog could ever give you is not a list of steps… It’s to lead you to Jesus.
You Must Be Born Again
Before you can live from His presence… you must decide whose presence you truly value. You must be born again.
Here’s how:
- Repent of your sins
- Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior
- Believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and that He rose again
(Romans 10:9)
You are only made righteous through faith in Jesus (Romans 3:22). Outside of Him, you are unrighteous and apart from Him, you can do nothing good (John 15:5).
Now that you’ve come to Jesus…
You have the aid and power of the Holy Spirit…
And your life has been surrendered…
You can begin these practical steps:
They are the response of a heart that’s been made new and wants to stay on fire for God:
#1 Stop Making Excuses – Romans 1:20
“People are without excuse.” You’ve seen enough. You’ve heard enough. God has revealed Himself.
Don’t delay your obedience. Don’t justify compromise. Let your yes be yes, and follow Him fully
#2 Acknowledge God Always – Romans 1:28
“They did not see fit to acknowledge God…” We must keep God at the center of our minds, always. Revival dies where God is forgotten.
Keep Him in your thoughts. Invite Him into your decisions. Honor Him in all things.
#3 Don’t Claim to Be Wise, Let God’s Wisdom Flow – Romans 1:22
“Claiming to be wise, they became fools…” Don’t lean on your own understanding.
You don’t have to figure it all out. Surrender your intellect and let the wisdom of God flow through you. Humility is the pathway to true wisdom.
#4 Stop Suppressing the Truth – Romans 1:25
“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie…” Stop pushing down what God is revealing. Stop pretending you don’t know what He said. Face the truth, embrace the truth, and walk in the truth. Truth sets you free, but only if you stop running from it.
#5 Live By Faith – Romans 1:17
“The righteous shall live by faith.” Don’t walk by feelings. Don’t depend on sight. Live every day, every moment, by faith. Faith in God’s Word and in His Presence, which leads to action.
#6 Don’t Be Ashamed of the Gospel – Romans 1:16
“I am not ashamed of the gospel…”
If you want revival, you must be bold. Unapologetically Christian. Unashamed of the power that saved you. Speak the truth. Share the message. Let your life preach the gospel.
It’s a life surrendered and set on fire for God And these six keys will help you keep the fire burning.

A Final Word: Arise. Remember. Respond.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” – Isaiah 60
Let this be your prayer: “Lord, give me a deep longing for You. Let me encounter the living God continuously. Help me live from Your presence.”
Do it again, Lord and do it again with me.
