When your life points somewhere, who does it point to? This blog is about God’s glory. Not everything we pursue brings God glory, even when it looks good on the outside.

Finding Glory in God: Who Are You Living For?
A new year has begun.
Some of us stepped into it with goals written out and plans mapped. Others came quietly, unsure, still carrying last year’s weight. And some of us are fasting, praying, and asking God for clarity.
But wherever you are right now, before you move forward, I want you to pause long enough to ask one question: Whose glory are you living for? Not who do you say you’re living for, but who actually receives your attention, your energy, your striving, your pursuit.
Why are you doing what you’re doing?
- If you want the promotion, what are you hoping it proves?
- If you want the affirmation, what are you hoping it fills?
- If you want your discipline, growth, and consistency to be seen, who do you want watching?
Are you living for the approval of people or for the pleasure of the Lord?
Where We Look for Glory
Whether we realize it or not, we are always placing glory somewhere.
- Success.
- In being noticed.
- Achievements
- In admiration
- In appearing disciplined, productive, spiritual, or put together.
However, none of these places are designed to carry the weight of our worth.

Today, I want to talk about finding glory in God.
- Not in likes.
- Not in power.
- Not in money, beauty, position, or performance.
But in the grounding place of knowing what He thinks.
Finding glory in God is finding deep pleasure, contentment, and satisfaction in His opinion of you, His thoughts about you, and His delight in your obedience. It’s when pleasing Him matters more than impressing others. And when His approval becomes your anchor.
When God’s Opinion Shapes Your Life
When we begin to care about what the Lord thinks, something shifts. Our decisions begin to reflect His Word, and our lives start to align with His truth, then our pursuits become shaped by His presence rather than pressure. This is the heart of living from God’s presence; everything you do flows from His nature, His character, and His goodness.
Start by asking different questions:
- Does this honor You, Lord?
- Does this reflect Your heart?
- Does this bring You glory or just attention?
Our ultimate satisfaction, honor, and sense of worth must be rooted in God and sustained by Him alone. Because when our glory is misplaced, we become restless, but when our glory is rooted in Him, we become steady.
An Encounter with Glory
Scripture gives us a powerful picture of this kind of anchoring encounter through Ezekiel:
“Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking.” (Ezekiel 1:28)
Ezekiel didn’t just learn about God. He didn’t just hear a message. He encountered the glory of the Lord for himself and that is our heart here at Life in God, to point you to Jesus so that you may encounter the Lord firsthand.
Not borrowing faith, or not leaning on someone else’s experience, but knowing God personally because encounters change you.
We pray these blogs and resources spark a flame in you, a hunger to go deeper with the Lord, and a reminder to seek Him daily.

Glory That Sustains You
When Ezekiel saw the glory of the Lord, his response was not striving; it was surrender. Ezekiel fell, worshiped, and listened.
What “Striving” Means?
Striving is not the same as effort. Striving is self-powered obedience driven by pressure, anxiety, fear, or the need to prove something. Not striving doesn’t mean we stop working, it means we stop carrying what was never ours to carry. We carry the assignment and trust God with the results.
What Ezekiel didn’t yet know was that this encounter was preparing him. He was about to be sent into resistance, into rejection, and a difficult assignment.
But because he had seen the glory of God, he would not be shaken by opposition. He would not be undone by threats. He would not question the reality or faithfulness of God when things became hard.
An encounter with God sustains you. When you’ve seen Him, when you’ve encountered His presence, no lie from the enemy can overwrite that truth.
The Glory That Reveals God
When we surrender before the God of glory, His response is always revelation.
The glory of God is not restricted. It is not reserved for the elite, but revealed to those who seek Him with humility and hunger.
My prayer is that this year you would live consciously aware of God’s glory, attentive to His presence, sensitive to His voice, and anchored in His approval.
May you encounter the Father for yourself and may you allow Him do the work in us.
God’s response to our surrender is to reveal Himself to us.
