You Are the Miracle
A friend recently told me she has heard everyone else’s testimony of what God has done, but she hasn’t seen the miracles and wonders of God with her own eyes. I felt compelled to answer her: “But you have.”
Your life is a miracle. God saving you is a miracle. The moment He met you and pulled you out of your darkness was a miracle in itself. As I look back over my own life, I see it too. I am a miracle. I am a living testimony. If the Lord never does another thing for us, coming to Christ and knowing Him is the greatest gift He could have given.
Look Back and See
Only you know the depth of where God has brought you from. So I encourage you to look back and remember. Was it drug addiction? Sickness? Separation from Him? An abusive relationship? A heartbreak you didn’t think you’d recover from? Foster care, prison, fear, depression, anxiety, worthlessness?
Whatever it was, His light became your lamp. He brought His light into your darkness, your pain, and your affliction, and He gave you new life (Psalm 18:28).

What God Has Already Done
Ephesians 1:3-14 tells us that in Christ you are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. He chose you before the foundation of the world, and you are now holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined you for adoption as His child. In Him you have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of your trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us. And when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
God the Father did not look at your darkness and leave you there. He made a plan to bring you home through His Son, Jesus Christ. That is love, and that is a miracle.

Practice Praise Today
Maybe today is hard. Maybe life feels heavy, or you’re facing difficult choices. You can still praise the God who met you in your darkness and pulled you out of what seemed impossible, because He is the same God today, and He is with you. The difference now is that you have hope. You know what’s available to you. You know the One who walks with you. Praise Him from that truth.
I know praising God in the middle of a difficult season is hard, but I encourage you to try anyway. And if you can’t, let someone else do it with you. Ask a friend to speak life over you and stand with you in faith. Think about Paul and Silas’ testimony. They had been beaten and thrown into prison, yet Scripture says:
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened.” (Acts 16:25-26 ESV)
So, right now, praise God for your life. Praise Him for what He is going to do, even when you can’t see a way out with your natural eyes. Praise is a kingdom thing!
