I don’t speak this way often, very rarely, but I believe we are in a prophetic season of dreaming. A second-chance dreaming season. God is calling us to dream again, and I feel that so strongly.
It’s not about where you’ve been, where you’ve come from, or what you’ve lacked. It’s about where you are today and what God is doing today.
This is your second chance to dream. Your second chance to visualize and strategize. God is giving you a new opportunity, a second chance to fulfill what He’s always wanted for you. And in the midst of it all, it’s about not losing sight of where He’s calling you. It’s not about the opinion of others. It’s about the opinion of God.
It Doesn’t Matter Where You’ve Been
This second chance doesn’t depend on whether you’ve started something and failed. It doesn’t depend on you being “too old.” This message was really confirmed in a conversation I was having with my mom. We were encouraging her to dream, reminding her that she is capable, she is enough, she has to believe.
I want you to begin building, in your mind and on paper.
The Tower of Babel, Reframed
Consider the Tower of Babel. These people were building something contrary to God, the opposite of His purpose, and God disrupted it. But there is something in this story I want you to take hold of: they were one people, on one accord, and they only had a thought of what they wanted to do. They hadn’t even physically begun to build. And God said, “nothing that they propose to do will be impossible” (Genesis 11:6-7).
Now imagine if they were in partnership with God. Imagine if they were building to advance the Kingdom. What would happen if you took on that same mindset, but did it in partnership with Him?
I believe you will begin to see Luke 1:37 manifested in your life: “for with God nothing shall be impossible.” You will begin to do what’s unthought of, what seems unimaginable. You will begin to see yourself in rooms, in places, achieving and doing far more than you could think or imagine, because you are in partnership with God.
Piecing Together the Puzzle
I’ve pulled out some old dreams. The Lord has been reminding me of dreams from five years ago, piecing together the puzzle. Life in God is just the beginning, and it’s connected to a bigger picture. I believe He’s going to do the same for you.
This is a second chance to dream.
God redeems and remembers our dreams, prayers, and stories, and He allows us a second chance to walk in them. LikeHe did with Jonah, who disobeyed Him. Like He did with Nehemiah.
He allows us to dream.
Sometimes life makes us get too comfortable. We settle into where we are and forget the little girl or boy who had a dream to do something. We started making money and settled into “this is enough, this is comfortable, this is safe,” and we forgot the dreams and passions God placed in our hearts.
God is calling you to dream again, to fulfill the calling He’s placed on the inside of you. To walk in it and trust Him fully to provide for you.
It May Be Scary. It’s Worth It.
It actually may be a lot of scary, a lot of nerve-wracking. But I believe it’s going to be so worth it on the other side. I know it is.
Five Steps to Start Dreaming Again
1. Start writing. Start imagining what’s possible. What we imagine as possible, God sees as something far bigger, something we haven’t even thought of.
2. Put it into motion. What’s the baby step toward this dream? Is it praying daily about it? Buying some material? Sketching a few ideas? Whatever that baby step is for you, take it this week.
3. Be consistent. Master the art of consistency in one thing, then start building upon it.
4. Tell a friend. Find that one person you can share it with, who will support you, root for you, and hold you accountable. They are your partner, and they will support you all the way.
5. Repeat. Keep dreaming. There is so much more God wants to reveal and do while you’re still here to advance the Kingdom.
Bonus: Identify the why of it all, and remind yourself of that why often. Why are you doing this? Keep doing it.
For My Mom, and For You
I encourage you to dream, to take a chance, to do something different. Simply, dream again. I want you to know you have so much more life to live.
You are capable, you are not a failure, you are enough, you are able. and you can do anything.
God has more for you.
Closing
You’re not too late, and you’re not too far gone. God is giving you a second chance to dream, and He’s inviting you to build it with Him. Nothing you propose to do in partnership with Him is impossible.
